Albuquerque Attorney Appointed to Bernalillo County Commission

(SANTA FE, N.M.) -- Albuquerque native Simon Kubiak has been appointed to the Bernalillo County Commission.

Kubiak's appointment was announced by Governor Susana Martinez on Tuesday. An attorney by profession, Kubiak will fill the vacant position created by the resignation of former Commissioner Michelle Lujan Grisham.

"As the new commissioner for District 1, Mr. Kubiak will have the responsibility of serving the people of Bernalillo County from now until the winner of the election for this seat takes office in January," Governor Martinez said in a statement.
