Albuquerque Fire Department on High Alert This Weekend

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M) -- Fire officials are increasing the department's presence this holiday weekend.

The Albuquerque Fire Department is teaming with the Bosque Patrol Plan and other agencies to ensure fire-prone areas are well-protected.

"You're going to see an increase presence across the west mesa, Petroglyph National Monument, up in the foothills as well as the Bosque," wildland officer Jeremy Hansen told ABC News affiliate KOAT-TV.

Officials are asking the public to report any suspicious activity in these areas by contacting 505-242-COPS.
