Fire Officials Direct Evacuees to Piedra Vista High School

(FARMINGTON, N.M.) -- Fire officials have directed evacuees to go to Piedra Vista High School after a structure fire on Spruce Street and Gold Avenue has now become a large brush fire, ABC affiliate KOAT Albuquerque reports.

According to fire officials, the fire spread from a backyard and then from there spread to a riverbed.

The roads that have been closed include Hubbard Road southbound, Peace Valley Road eastbound and Copper Avenue westbound.

Approximately 75 homes have been evacuated the town and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
