Lowes May Bring 300 Jobs to State

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- Lowes may bring an additional 300 jobs to Albuquerque, ABC affiliate KOAT-TV reports.

The home improvement company has hired about 600 people since February, when it opened a customer support center. Lowes is now asking for a new incentive package that would add 300 jobs, according to Bernalillo County commissioners.

"We really hope this will be the first of many that come and take a look at Bernalillo County and what we have to offer and make the decision that this is the right place for them," Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins said.

On Tuesday, the commission will vote on the incentive package.
