Mescalero Man Sentenced to 14 Years for Sexually Abusing Child

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- A Mescalero man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexually abusing a child in 2008.

Wyatt Michael Lee Pebeashy, 25, was sentenced on Wednesday in a Las Cruces court, after pleading guilty last November to a charge of aggravated sexual abuse.

Authorities said on October 3, 2008, Pebeashy sexually abused a female minor at a residence located within the Mescalero Apache Reservation. A release by the U.S. Attorney's Office did not indicate the victim's age at the time of the incident.
