New Mexico's Drought Expected to Persist or Worsen

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- New Mexico's drought is expected to persist or worsen through the end of the year, according to the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center.

The agency's latest seasonal assessment says that the end of the monsoon decreases the chances for improvement, and drought persistence is now forecast for the Southwest.

The next outlook will be issued on October 4.
