Suspect in Fatal Crash Returned from Texas

(RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, N.M.) -- Mariano Pinon-Chavez was charged with drunk driving and killing his 4-year-old grandson, but was arrested as a Mexican National, according to our ABC affiliate KOAT.

Pinon-Chavez was about to be deported to Mexico from an El Paso holding center, but the Federal Immigrations officials changed their minds and have held him in Rio Arriba County custody.

Pinon-Chavez is set to go on trial in New Mexico.
