Toddler Discovered Dead in Day Care Parking Lot

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- An unresponsive 2-year-old boy was discovered in a car located at the Precious Moment day care parking lot by a rescue crew on Monday afternoon, according to ABC affiliate KOAT-TV.
The child was supposedly left in the car all day and was rushed to a hospital where he later died. The boy’s parents have been notified. Officials say the boy is a relative of a day care employee.
Authorities have yet to determine how long the child was in the car, but when authorities were notified the temperature outside was 91 degrees.
The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department has been asked to help with the investigation.
The day care center is set to reopen on Tuesday.
