Two Arsons in Albuquerque Monday Morning

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- Two fires within half a mile of each other this morning were intentionally set, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

One fire was ignited in a shed behind an abandoned house in the 500 block of Alcazar after 5 a.m. The Albuquerque Fire Department then found smoke in a unit of an empty apartment in the 300 block of Charleston at 9 a.m., the paper says.

Fire officials determined that both fires were arson, but have no suspects or witnesses.

Residents who witness any suspicious activity are urged to call 242-COPS or 242-2677.
