$30 Million to Develop Energy-Efficient Technologies in NY
(ALBANY, N.Y.) -- New York State is getting a boost to the tune of $30 million towards the development new energy-efficient technologies.
Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced Monday that the money was approved by the New York Power Authority as part of its Energy Efficiency Market Acceleration Program. The funding will be provided over a five-year period and go towards accelerating energy efficiency market development activities and demonstration projects.
"This new technology will improve air quality and the reliability of the electric power system here in New York, while lowering energy bills and helping the state further solidify its place as the nation's leader in the clean energy economy," Cuomo said in a statement.
