Jury Acquits Man in Local Stabbing

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) -- A Broome County jury has acquitted a man who had been accused of stabbing another man in Binghamton in 2011, the Press & Sun Bulletin reports.

Frankie Hubbert was found innocent of first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, both felony charges, his attorney, Mark Loughran, said. The charges were filed in mid-2011 by the Broome County District Attorney's Office.

During the five-day trial, the defense argued that the prosecution's main witness was not credible, the paper says.
