(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) -- A mini-van lost control and crashed into the all-glass front window of Maryam's Mart on Court Street Tuesday morning, ABC affiliate WIVT/WBGH-TV reports.
The vehicle side-swiped a maroon car at the intersection of Washington and Court streets, lost a wheel and continued east on Court Street, reportedly sliding sideways at one point. It then went through the intersection with State Street, onto the sidewalk and almost slammed into the First Niagara Bank on the corner before crashing into Maryam's.
"I couldn't even believe what was going on to be honest. I've seen it in a movie, but I never thought I'd see it in real life," Amy Brearley said.
The man in the maroon car, a man walking near Maryam's who was scraped by the van and the elderly couple in the van were all taken to hospitals.
Assistant Chief Larry Ostanek says, "I believe it was an older vehicle and we had a tough time getting the doors off, but eventually we hooked them up to the jaws and got them out of there. They should be in stable condition."
Police believe the driver of the van had medical issues that triggered the incident.
None of the injuries were life threatening. The names of the injured people have not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
