NY's Unemployment Rate Holds Steady

(NEW YORK) -- New York's unemployment rate held steady from July to August, according to the latest figures released by the state's Department of Labor on Thursday.
The department said in August, New York's unemployment rate stood at 9.1 percent, unchanged from the July rate.
In New York City, the August unemployment rate was 9.9 percent, down 0.1 percent from the previous month. While in the rest of the state, the rate stood at 8.6 percent in August, up from 8.4 percent in July.
The national unemployment rate, meanwhile, fell to 8.1 percent in August, from 8.3 percent in July.
