Birmingham Schools Awarded 19 Million in Scholarships

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) -- More than $19 million dollars worth of scholarships have been awarded to graduating high school students from Birmingham High Schools, ABC affiliate 33/40 reports.

Of that money, $6 million dollars were awarded to students at Jackson Olin High School, more than $4 million dollars went to Ramsey students, over $2 million dollars went to Parker graduates and more than $1 million dollars went to Carver, Huffman, Wenonah and Woodlawn.

Some of the scholarships are still pending, which will likely increase the total awards.
