Increased Education Trust Funds Help Avoid Spending Cuts

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) -- Alabama’s Education Trust Fund predicted Monday that they will collect enough state income taxes to avoid spending cuts, according to the Birmingham News.

From October through June, $4.25 billion was collected by the trust fund, which was a $269.9 million increase from the same period last year.

A majority of the state tax dollars will go to public schools and colleges.
