Interstate 20 to Close Next Week for Continued Work
(ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala.) -- Work will continue on Interstate 20 next week and drivers are urged to consider using alternate routes, ABC affiliate 33/40 reports.
State troopers will close the I-20 eastbound and westbound inside lanes between Exit 153 (Chula Vista) Monday and Exit 152 (Cook Springs) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to move portable barrier rails. They will set up rolling roadblocks between miles markers 147 and 149 starting at 7 p.m.
Motorists are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits and other signs, use extreme caution and consider using alternate routes. Additional information can be found here or by calling 866-888-0822 or by subscribing to email alerts by replying to kvorys@mpf.com.
The work is part of the Alabama Department of Transportation's project to widen the last four-lane segment of the highway in St. Clair County.
