Man Fatally Struck While Changing Tire on I-59 Identified

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) -- Officials have identified a man who was hit and killed while changing a tire on I-59 early Friday morning, The Birmingham News reports.
Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Johnny Long identified the victim as 23-year-old Reynold Earl Freeman. The accident occurred on Interstate 59 northbound at the Fourth Avenue South Exit just before 3:30 a.m. Freeman had reportedly been changing the rear tire of his car when a Dodge pickup truck struck him and his vehicle.
Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene.
