Polls Open for School Tax Extension Vote

(PELHAM, Ala.) -- Shelby County residents can vote Tuesday for a $30 million property tax extension directed towards public schools.

The vote will decide if the taxes will remain for another 30 years. If voters reject the measure, schools might not be forced to cut curriculum and construction projects.

Voters can go to the polls anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday.
