Tropical Storm Debby: Gov. Urges Residents to Prepare for Impact

(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) -- Governor Robert Bentley is urging Alabama residents to keep a close eye on Tropical Storm Debby as it is forecasted to impact some parts of the state in the coming days.

"Now is the time to make sure you and your family are ready for any potential impact on the state," Bentley said in a statement. "While forecast tracks show the center of the storm likely entering Louisiana, the 'cone of uncertainty' from the National Weather Service includes the Alabama Gulf Coast. Some inland areas in the state could also be affected. Take the time you have now to go ahead and prepare for what may lie ahead."

Tropical storm warnings have been issued to areas along the Alabama-Florida border.
