$70 Million JUMP Project Approved for Downtown

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Jack's Urban Meeting Place, a park and learning center that will cost $70 million, has been approved for downtown Boise, reports KIVI-TV, ABC's Boise affiliate.
"The design has evolved considerably over the last several months and I think it's more positioned to succeed," said Mayor Dave Bieter. "I think there's a real feeling of excitement."
The project will be funded by the Simplot family on property already owned by them. It will be located in the empty space off the west end of the connector, between 9th and 11th streets. JUMP will contain a four-acre park, meeting places, and classrooms for things like cooking and the arts, according to a spokeperson.
The project is expected to take around two years to complete once construction starts. JUMP could be open by 2013.
