Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Fatal Crash

(IDAHO FALLS, Idaho) -- A 24-year-old man was sentenced to two 10 year prison sentences for the death of a passenger and seriously injuring a man as a result of a drunken driving crash in 2010.

According to the Idaho State Journal, Cody McDermott-Reid was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and aggravated driving under the influence in September for causing an accident which resulted in the death of Angie Large and the maiming of Michaela Bjarnson.  

McDermott-Reid, who at the time of the accident had a blood alcohol level of .144 which was nearly twice the legal limit of .08, will serve the sentences concurrently minus two years of time served.

Cops: 'Very Intoxicated' Man Charged with Felony DUI

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A Nampa man had a DUI charge bumped up to a felony, after he was arrested by Boise police for allegedly being drunk behind the wheel early Thursday morning.

Officials say around 2:30 a.m. officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically and crossing the fog line, as it traveled west along Interstate 84 near Orchard. Police stopped the vehicle, and they say the driver appeared to be "very intoxicated" at the time.

A police report states that Gregory A. Morin, 54, failed several sobriety tests, and has was charged with felony DUI, after it was discovered that he had prior DUI convictions.

Miners Trapped After Accident at Lucky Friday

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Several workers were trapped at the Lucky Friday Mine Wednesday night in northern Idaho.

The Shoshune County Sheriff's Department reported to the scene around 9 p.m. after an accident buried several miners.

Authorities are unsure how many people are trapped underground, or whether there were any fatalities.

Church Thief Identified as 18-Year-Old Boise Man

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a pair of recent burglaries at local Boise churches.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Timothy Brown, who police allege stole items from two churches on two occasions in November. Police say Brown stole a donation box from the Northview Street church on Nov. 20 and an iPod on Nov. 17.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, standing 5-foot-7, weighing 125 pounds, with red hair and hazel eyes.

Boise Man in Convenience Store Shooting Sentenced to Life

(BOISE, Ida.) -- The Boise man who shot a Garden City convenience store clerk in a robbery last May was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Taylor Wray, 19, was found guilty of injuring Larry M. Hammen, 47, who worked as a clerk at Jackson’s at Chinden Boulevard and Maple Grove Road, which Wray robbed shortly after 1 a.m. on May 14.

Wray reportedly committed the crime in an attempt to pay off a drug debt.
