Church Thief Identified as 18-Year-Old Boise Man

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a pair of recent burglaries at local Boise churches.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Timothy Brown, who police allege stole items from two churches on two occasions in November. Police say Brown stole a donation box from the Northview Street church on Nov. 20 and an iPod on Nov. 17.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, standing 5-foot-7, weighing 125 pounds, with red hair and hazel eyes.

Boise Man in Convenience Store Shooting Sentenced to Life

(BOISE, Ida.) -- The Boise man who shot a Garden City convenience store clerk in a robbery last May was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Taylor Wray, 19, was found guilty of injuring Larry M. Hammen, 47, who worked as a clerk at Jackson’s at Chinden Boulevard and Maple Grove Road, which Wray robbed shortly after 1 a.m. on May 14.

Wray reportedly committed the crime in an attempt to pay off a drug debt.

Cops Bust Suspects with $18,000 in Fraudulently Obtained Items

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Two men were arrested by Boise police on Tuesday, accused of illegally obtaining items from a local store.

Investigators were reportedly at a retail store located on the 8100 block of West Franklin Road around 4 p.m., where they say they observed two suspects switching price tags and fraudulently presenting items for purchase. Officials say shortly after the suspects left the store, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle the suspects were traveling in; a search reportedly yielded approximately $18,000 in merchandise obtained through fraudulent means.

Daniel Sentiveanu, 32, and Roy Dean, 45, each face charges of burglary, grand theft, and criminal conspiracy.

Woman Arrested on Attempted Strangulation Charges

(BOISE, Idaho) -- A 22-year-old Boise woman is behind bars on attempted strangulation charges, according to police.

Amanda Roderick was arrested Friday after police responded to a report of a fight inside a residence on the 10000 block of West Alliance Street around 10 a.m. When officers arrived, the victim said the suspect attempted to choke her during an altercation. The suspect is known to the victim, police said.

Police were able to locate Roderick a short time later and booked her into the Ada County Jail on one count of attempted strangulation, a felony charge.

Caldwell Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Former Landlady

(BOISE, Ida.) -- A Caldwell man pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to the murder of his former landlady.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Theodore Kestner, 51, confessed to strangling Jennifer Kirkpatrick, 53, at her home in September.

Her body was discovered Sept. 1. Kestner was arrested five days later.

Kestner's sentencing hearing is slated for Feb. 21.

He is being held without bond at the Canyon County jail.
