No Charges in 2012 'Suicide-by-Cop' Case

(BOISE, Idaho) -- No charges will be filed against the police officers involved in a 2012 fatal shooting that has been deemed "suicide-by-cop."

According to the Idaho Statesman, Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs determined after a thorough investigation that criminal charges were not warranted in the death of Eric Dilworth.

According to the Statesman, Dilworth's mother called police on Dec. 3 because he was threatening to kill himself. When police arrived, they began to search the parking lot when Dilworth emerged from the home brandishing a knife. After he ignored police officers' orders and raised the knife at them, four officers fired at him, striking him eight times.

According to Loebs' report, Dilworth had had several incidents involving police in the previous months, many of which had gotten physical.
