Boise Area Income Lower Than National Average

(BOISE, Idaho) -- Income among Boise-area residents is more than 10 percent below the national average, according to a recently released report from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The report found that the average Boise City area worker earned $19.37 an hour in May 2011—about 11 percent below the national average of $21.74 an hour.

Other statistics released in the report found that legal occupations in the area were the highest paid at $39.83 an hour. Management occupations came in second at $38.01 an hour.
