Airline Ticket Value Up by Almost 11 Percent Since Last Year 

Medioimages/Photodisc/Thinkstock(ARLINGTON, Va.) -- The value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased by almost 11 percent in the first two months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, according to a report issued by the Airlines Reporting Corporation on Friday.

January and February 2012 tickets totaled $14.9 billion, compared to $13.5 billion in 2011, and $12.1 billion in 2010.

The Airlines Reporting Corporation is an airline-owned company that provides transaction settlement and data information services to travel suppliers throughout the United States.
