Bottoms Up: $123,000 Bottle of Wine Sets Guinness Record

Medioimages/Photodisc/Thinkstock(LONDON) -- A Guinness World Record was set Tuesday for the most expensive bottle of white wine not sold at auction when a 200-year-old bottle was purchased by a French collector for $123,000.

The 1811 Chateau d'Yquem was sold by the Antique Wine Company to wine connoisseur and private collector Christian Vanneque at the Ritz in central London, according to Bloomberg News.

According to reports, Vanneque will bring the wine to his new restaurant, SIP Sunset Grill, in Bali, Indonesia where it will be on display.
