(NEW YORK) -- The honor of being in the first Instagram snap, which was posted four years ago on Wednesday, went to co-founder Kevin Systrom’s dog.
At the time, the photo sharing network hadn’t gone public and went by a different moniker: Codename, according to a post on the company’s website from two years ago.
Instagram launched to the public in October 2010 and now boasts more than 200 million active members per month, according to the company.
An average of 60 million photos are uploaded every day, while more than 20 billion snaps have been shared.
Facebook paid a reported $1 billion for Instagram in 2012.
