(NEW YORK) -- Frito-Lay, Cheetos' parent company, unveiled two new snack mixes that the company expects will solve customers’ snacking dilemmas.
Cheetos Mix-Ups snack mixes combine several flavors and shapes in one bag. The Xtra Cheezy mix combines crunchy cheddar, double cheddar puffs, nacho cheese grid-shapes and Parmesan-flavored mini-puffs. The Cheezy Salsa mix includes crunchy salsa picante snacks, cheddar puffs, chipotle cheddar grids and jalapeno-cheddar mini-puffs.
“Cheetos fans enjoy a variety of tastes -- some want hot and zesty while others crave cheesy and crunchy…By mixing and matching the flavors in each bag, consumers can create endless cheesy combinations,” said Ram Krishnan, vice president of marketing for Frito-Lay.
In honor of the launch, the company spokes-cat has joined the Twitterverse under the handle @ChesterCheetah. Fans are encouraged to Tweet at the cartoon cat, who is hoping to gain 50,000 followers to “help find a kitten a home.” So far, “the only spokescheetah of anything” has just over 200.
The new mixes are available around the country for $3.49 for the 8.75 ounce and $1.49 for the 3.75 ounce packages.
A one-ounce, one-cup portion of the Cheezy Salsa mix has 150 calories, 10 grams of fat and 270 milligrams of sodium. The Xtra Cheezy mix has about the same stats but has 20 milligrams less of sodium.
