'Hidden Cash' Craze Expands Across US, Internationally

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- The millionaire who made headlines last month by hiding envelopes filled with money for strangers to find in California's Bay Area has expanded his operation to include the east coast and even Mexico.

In the past week, the twitter account @HiddenCash, run by an anonymous millionaire who told ABC News last month that he "wanted to do something fun," has begun announcing money drops in New York City, Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas and Mexico City. The Twitter account continues to urge its follower to follow in its footsteps and "pay it forward" and "be generous."

The mystery man, uses the Twitter handle @HiddenCash to post clues about the location of the cash envelopes. Those who find the envelopes are asked to tweet a photo when they find one. Most of the photos feature people thrilled to be part of the game.
