Jobless Claims Fall to 359,000

Spencer Platt/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Jobless claims continued to drop last week, falling by 26,000, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Labor Department.

For the week ending Sept. 22, the number of people filing for benefits fell to 359,000. The previous week, claims stood at 385,000.

The four-week average also went down, decreasing by 4,500 to 374,000.
