Jobless Claims Fall to 393K Following Thanksgiving

Spencer Platt/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Jobless claims tumbled 23,000 during Thanksgiving week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

For the week ending Nov. 24, the number of people filing for benefits dropped to 393,000. The previous week, claims stood at 416,000.

The four-week average, meanwhile, took a turn upwards, climbing 7,500 to 405,250.
