Jobless Claims Fall to Lowest Level in Four Years

Spencer Platt/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Jobless claims kicked off the month of July on a positive note, falling to the lowest level in four years, according to figures released Thursday by the Labor Department.

For the week ending July 7, the number of people filing for benefits decreased by 26,000 to 350,000.  The previous week, claims stood at 376,000.

The four-week average also took a notable plunge, dropping by 9,750 to 376,500.
