LA County Tries to Collect $4 Million in Unpaid Taxes from Wilshire Hotel

Ryan McVay/Photodisc/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) -- Hear's one unique way to make sure a fancy Los Angeles hotel pays its taxes.

A court says the Whilshire Hotel, a popular spot for high-end travelers, has been under reporting taxes it collects from guests.  Authorities say the hotel still refuses to pay up.

Trying to collect close to $4million in unpaid taxes, L.A. County Sheriff employees are now stationed in the lobby 24/7 collecting cash from the hotel, restaurant, bar and the Starbucks inside.  Customers are being forced to pay cash and the sheriff's workers take the county's cut right in the lobby .
