Beyonce Inks $50M Deal with Pepsi

Pepsico(NEW YORK) -- People will soon be seeing a whole lot more of Beyonce Knowles.

The 31-year-old singer has scored a $50 million deal with Pepsi as its brand ambassador.  Her visage will even appear on the side of a soda can.

Knowles has already begun her brand responsibilities, saying her art and the soda’s brand mesh so well.

“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” she said in a statement.  “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

Knowles has worked with Pepsi in the past, appearing on ads for the brand.  She will also perform at the halftime show at this year’s Pepsi-sponsored Super Bowl.

Beyonce, Jay-Z Could Have Made Millions from Baby Pictures

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) -- Blue Ivy Carter could have appeared on any magazine cover, netting her megastar parents, Beyonce and Jay-Z, millions of dollars.

Instead, the music power couple decided to introduce their baby girl to the world for free -- on blogging site Tumblr.

The celebrated couple, known for keeping their lips sealed when it comes to their personal lives shared the intimate family photos with this hand written note: “We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family”

Celebrity baby photos in the past have raked in millions of dollars.

Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend sold the first photos of their newborn son Levi to OK! magazine for $3 million, TMZ reported.

J. Lo and Marc Anthony sold their baby photos to People Magazine for $6 million. And Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie scored $11 million for the first photos of their twins.

“The one thing that we have to remember, that unless they release pictures there would have been paparazzi on their doorstep and it would not have stopped until that first picture was out,” said Melanie Bromley with US Weekly.

Beyonce made her first appearance since giving birth on Jan. 8 at her husband’s charity concert last week.

The show included a performance of the song Jay-Z wrote for their daughter.

Beyonce Brands Baby Blue

Kristian Dowling/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Beyonce’s baby is already becoming a brand. The Washington Post reports that on Jan. 26, Beyonce and husband Jay-Z filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the name of their one-month old daughter, Blue Ivy, and reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags and more accessories for fashion-forward infants.

Why so soon? Probably because outsiders tried to trademark Blue Ivy before the famous parents filed their application, submitting requests to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter NYC”  and “Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV” for use on a line of fragrances. The office denied both filings, according to the Post, saying the name belonged to a “very famous infant” and the trademarks would mislead consumers to believe that Bey and Jay approved the products.
