(WASHINGTON) -- Dole has issued a voluntary recall for nearly 3,000 cases of its Italian Blend salad and more than 400 cases of Kroger Fresh Selections Italian Style Blend salads after at least one sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The products were distributed in twelve states -- Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin -- and three Canadian provinces.
The Dole-branded products carry a use-by date of June 19, 2011, UPC code 7143000819, and product codes 0049A157201A, 0049A157201B, 0049A157202A, 0049A157202B, 0686A157202A and 0686A157202B.
The recalled Kroger products carry a use-by date of June 19, 2011, UPC code 1111091045 and produce codes A157201A and A157201B.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes could include fever, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, headache, stiff neck and confusion.
The company said no illnesses have been reported in association with the recall.
Dole recommends that consumers discard any possibly contaminated product.
