(CHICAGO) -- It’s a decade-long debate. What do you call a pair of Toyota's Prius model?
The company on Sunday finally ended the confusion.
"The people have spoken,” said Colin Morisako, advertising manager for Toyota. “Prii will be the accepted term used to describe multiple Prius vehicles going forward."
Toyota’s decision comes after an online survey in which voters were asked to choose between five possible terms. The campaign was launched earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The automaker revealed the winner Sunday morning at the Chicago Auto Show.
Prii took 25 percent of the nearly two million votes cast; other options included Prius, Priuses, Prium and Prien. Falling just short was Prius, which collected 24 percent of the vote.
