Wall Street Headed for Losses at Opening
Hemera Technologies/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- After closing up the day before, Wall Street is poised for loses as it kicks off trading Thursday morning with stock futures down ahead of the opening bell.
On Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 103 points, the Nasdaq gained 22 and the S&P 500 climbed 12.
Following suit, European stocks are also trading lower Thursday after a strong move up.
Asian markets, on the other hand, posted gains across the board on Thursday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng led the way, rising 2.34 percent. Japan’s Nikkei index added 0.97 percent, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.96 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.78 percent, and South Korea’s Kospi closed up 0.75 percent.
