Walmart Recalls 73K Table Sets over Finger Amputation Hazard

Consumer Product Safety Commission(NEW YORK) -- Walmart is recalling approximately 73,400 card table and chair sets after receiving several reports of injuries involving the chairs, including a finger amputation.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the chairs belonging to the Mainstays five-piece card table and chair sets can "collapse unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard and a risk of finger injury, including finger amputation."

So far, the world's largest retailer has received 10 reports of injuries, including one finger amputation, three fingertip amputations, and sprained or fractured fingers, according to the CPSC.

The products in question were sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide and on the retailer's website between May 2013 and November 2013. Anyone who owns the table set is being asked to stop using it immediately and can return it to Walmart for a full refund.
