Woman Accused of Stealing $15M from Dying Mom

F1Online/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- An Italian woman living in Trump Tower says she doesn’t understand why she is being accused by her niece of stealing $15 million from her dying mother.

Susetta Mion, is being sued by her niece, Micol Mion Gordon, in New York’s Manhattan Surrogate Court to recoup the $15 million.

“I don’t understand why,” Mion told ABC News in a brief phone call. “Micol is my brother’s daughter…the case…I don’t understand.”

Mion, speaking in an Italian accent, directed the questions to her attorney. Her attorney did not answer repeated phone calls.

On June 26, Mion was denied a motion to dismiss the case, according to court records.

Mion’s mother, Renata Fiori, died in 2008. She had three children: Mion, a son who has relinquished claims to her estate, and a third son who is Gordon’s father, according to court records.

Gordon, who is a Boston-based attorney,  alleges that Mion unlawfully removed $15 million worth of property from Forti’s home in Italy before and after Forti’s death and moved to New York in 2008, according to a court document written by Justice Nora Anderson on Jan. 18, 2013.

Gordon is claiming that Mion is now wrongfully withholding Forti’s property in New York, according to the judge’s document.

In January, Gordon filed a petition to become the administrator of Forti’s estate, which Anderson granted.

Gordon also sought a restraining order against Mion, which Anderson denied.

Mion currently lives in a condo in Trump Tower in New York, which she bought for $2.3 million in 2006, according to public records.

Gordon is also pursuing legal action against Mion in Italy.

Calls to Gordon’s home and office for comment were not returned.
