Former SC Chief Justice Chandler Dies
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) -- Former South Carolina Chief Justice A. Lee Chandler died Wednesday, according to The State. He was 89.
Chandler authored several important rulings, including Davis vs. Jennings, where judges cannot have close court hearings until there is first a public hearing in court. He also allowed Columbia to annex out Columbiana Mall near Irmo.
A funeral will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 210 South Main St., in Darlington.
