Main Runway at Charleston International to Be Shut Down
(CHARLESTON, S.C.) -- The main runway at Charleston International Airport and Air Force Base with be shut down on June 18 for 9-12 months, according to a report in The Post and Courier.
The 9,000-foot runway is shutting down for construction. Colorado Springs-based DWG and Associates is in charge of the project, which will cost $50 million.
The Air Force owns all of the runways at the airport, according to the report.
