New Charleston Air Force Base Wing Commander Named
(CHARLESTON, S.C.) -- A new Charleston Air Force Base wing commander has been named, The Post and Courier reports.
Col. James Fontanella is set to take command of the 315th Airlift Wing, which has more than 2,300 personnel, in a 10 a.m. ceremony on Saturday. The wing is the Air Force Command unit at the base.
Fontanella is a 24-year military veteran with more than 3,000 flight hours in various aircraft.
