Burn Bans Due to Lack of Rain in Many Tennessee Counties

(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) -- Twenty-eight Tennessee counties including Loudon, Morgan and Sevier have been added to the burn ban list which prohibits outdoor grills, campfires and construction burning, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

During times of extremely dry weather, county mayors can request burn bans to be put in place by the State Agriculture Commissioner.

Violating the ban can result in up to 11 months and 29 days in jail and a $2,500 fine.
