iPads Installed at Driver Service Centers to Cut Wait Times
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Tennesseans going to renew their driver's licenses can now speed up their time at driver service centers with the help of a new Apple iPad app.
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced that it has installed 72 iPad kiosks titled Automatic Self-Service Electronic Terminals (ASSETS) at 26 driver service centers across the state. Officials said the iPads are equipped with a special application that allows drivers to quickly complete transactions such as renewing or replacing a driver's license.
"Reducing the wait time at driver service centers is one of our top priorities," Commissioner Bill Gibbons said in a statement. "These self-service iPad stations will cut down on the number of customers waiting for service from a driver license examiner and will help reduce the overall wait time for all customers."
