MADD Tennessee Must Sell License Plates or Lose Funds

(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) -- Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Tennessee may lose valuable funds if it fails to sell enough license plates used to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving which in turn helps offer services to victims, The Chattanoogan reports.

MADD Tennessee is required to maintain a minimum of 500 license plates in circulation by June 20, or else the plates will be terminated and the organization will lose over $15,000 of annual funding. The group currently needs to sell 70 plates to meet that goal, and is asking citizens across the state to purchase a plate in support of MADD Tennessee's efforts to support victims and save lives, the paper says.

The plate costs $35, and $30.75 goes towards the group's work, according to The Chattanoogan.
