State Capitol Renovations Uncover Surprises

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Tenovations of the State Capitol uncovered many surprising finds, including false ceilings on the ground floor and filled-in fireplaces in the state House chambers, according to the Tennessean.

The building will not be reopened until the end of the year and is currently closed to visitors. The Capitol will have infrastructure renovations with updated heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems.

State offices are now housed in the Tennessee Tower and War Memorial Building.
