Tax-Free Holiday Returns Across State

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Although Tennessee usually has a 9 percent sales tax rate, there will be a back-to-school tax-free holiday from Aug. 3-5, according to The Tennessean.

Last year, shoppers saved $9.6 million in Tennessee.

The tax holiday is built into the governor’s budget to offset the lost in revenue in taxes.
