(LAKEWOOD, Colo.) -- A teenage boy who recently moved from Elgin, Ill., with his mother, was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday afternoon as he walked with a friend in Lakewood, Colo., ABC television affiliate WLS reports.
Robbie Fehlman, 14, was struck by a vehicle that jumped the curb. He died at the scene, while his friend suffered non-life threatening injuries, the Daily Herald reports.
Fehlman recently graduated from the eighth grade.
The driver, Rhonda Kay Romero, 40, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and careless driving. Police believe she may have been under the influence of prescription drugs at the time of the incident.
