(BOLINGBROOK, Ill.) -- An 11-year-old girl drowned Tuesday in a pond behind a Bolingbrook school, ABC News Chicago affiliate WLS-TV reports.
Jordan Oliver drowned Tuesday evening in a pond behind Pioneer Elementary School after she reportedly jumped into the water from a footbridge where she was playing a game with friends. Oliver told her friends she did not know how to swim.
Grief and crisis counselors were called into the school Wednesday in an effort to help Jordan’s 800 classmates deal with her death.
Jordan had two older siblings enrolled at Bolingbrook High School.
