Man Struck and Killed by Taxi on Lake Shore Drive

(CHICAGO) -- A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago over the weekend.

The incident happened on Saturday night on the 4500 block of Lake Shore Drive. The man, in his 40s, was reportedly hit by a taxi cab as he attempted to cross the roadway in an area without a crosswalk, according to ABC's Chicago station WLS-TV.

He was was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
